Who is Epic Beard?
Hey There! I am Jeff Heiser of Epic Beard Photography. I grew up in Merritt Island Florida, a small but important town in Florida. Important with regards to Kennedy Space Center. I am a Navy veteran and Epic Beard Photography is a Virginia Beach based Photography business specializing in capturing your moments and making them Genuine, Bold, and of course Epic! The Navy took me around the world and gave me opportunities to see and do things I would have never been able to do. While in the Navy I always had my camera in hand either while out at sea or while we were in port in distant lands.
I love how a photograph can be reshaped or altered to create a new reality. I like that photography can create a world of brighter colors, more beautiful people, faster looking cars, more action to sports, make someone want to travel to a destination unknown, and enjoy a drink that you didn’t know you wanted in the first place. I like that photography is an art form of illusion, or a sleight of hand and plays a trick with your mind. There is an art to creating photographs with bright vibrant colors that pop, and sharp clear images to tell a story and influence you the consumer.
I’m influenced by the portrait works by Annie Leibovitz for her lighting style, the use of bold colors, and her poses. This helps the photographing illusion along in telling the story. I am also influenced by Ernesto Ortiz and Karl Taylor for their mastering the delicate balance of being uniquely creative and still showcasing a company’s product in an appealing and clear way. My body of work showcases my ability taking an image and merging my artistic expression with it to deliver an appealing photographic illusion.
