Who is on staff at Epic Beard Photography?
Jeff is the owner and photographer of Epic Beard Photography and shoots all of our weddings, engagements, family portraits, maternity, events, and sporting events. Stephanie is co-owner and sets up all the poses during our sessions. Stephanie has also recently started photographing sporting events as an associate photographer. Together as a husband and wife team we handle all other aspects of the business together.
What should I expect after contacting you for services?
After you contact us via email, or phone I like to schedule a time to sit down over coffee of sorts at a café. We do this so all the awkward moments of first meeting someone is done before your session date that is scheduled. During this meeting we will go over what your expectations are, what our expectations are, signing of the contract, payment of services, and schedule your session day. On our second meeting will be the day of your session in a relaxed atmosphere making your dreams an epic reality. The third meeting will be on average 4-6 weeks after your session (peak season) for a reveal of your session. At that time you will have the opportunity to order prints, receive your complimentary 3 digital images, and your private gallery password.
What time of day will my session be held?
The time of day that your session is held is up to you. My suggestion is that there are two times of day that outside natural lighting is the best. The two times of day are first thing in the morning from sunrise until about 10 am and at 5pm until sunset during late spring, summer and early fall time frame. During the late fall, winter, and early spring the afternoon times vary. The reason these times of day are the best for lighting is because these times include what is known in the photography world as the Golden Hour or the “magic hour”. During these times the sun is low in the sky, producing a soft, diffused light which is much more flattering than the harsh midday sun that most people prefer to photograph in. Now there are tricks to make flattering light occur during the midday sun, so again the time of day for your session is up to you.
Why are you expensive? Other photographers don’t charge as much.
We have based our prices on many factors, and realize that commissioning Epic Beard photography for custom photography isn’t not for everyone’s budget. There are many costs associated with owning a business and at the end of the day we still need to make a living. Epic Beard Photography is licensed, insured, and pay taxes to federal, state, and local government. That means right off the bat 25% of everything we charge goes to the government before our other expenses are taken care of. We take great pride in accomplishing your vision and meeting your expectations in delivering an experience more than just taking a picture. We want to capture the emotions in your session and create a timeless piece of art for you and your family to enjoy for generations. Our goal isn’t to be just a “turn and burn” business by just taking your picture and giving you a thumb drive full of digital images that just sit in a drawer. Being an artist I bring an aspect to think through, imagine, and create images that you will love. We want to show the beauty in all of our sessions from a wedding to, portraits, themed sessions, maternity, newborn, and senior class portraits. We like to capture the in the moment genuine smiles and happiness with a photojournalistic feel.
